brooklyn food vacation {day three}

today is the last day of our food vacation in brooklyn. so sad! we decided to hit up the mecca of vegan bakeries {babycakes}. i love babycakes. like a lot. i think it’s safe to say it’s my favorite bakery…ever. {cinnaholic & dunwell doughnuts in a very close second!} i wasn’t sure what to order so i did a little of everything! 2 cupcakes, 2 donuts, 2 jammers *which are my FAVORITE*, and an oatmeal cream sandwich! also purchased a tee shirt & coffee mug since i’ll be leaving new york in the next few months! šŸ˜¦

BABYCAKES is the way to this vegan heart.

everything was incredible and i’m pretty sure nikki agreed. šŸ˜€

after babycakes we walked around the village for a few minutes. stopped by moo shoes… because i can’t visit babycakes and NOT browse my favorite vegan shoe store! šŸ˜‰ i also wanted to show her that moo shoes doesn’t just sell “hemp” style footwear!!!

while wandering around the village i passed by {teany} which i’ve heard about many times, but never tried! so we stopped in for a very light lunch & tea just because! šŸ˜‰ we ordered a cuban style wrap which was pretty awesome. it had greens, roasted peppers, chick-un & some other yummy goodness! šŸ˜€ the tea menu is overwhelming! so many choices. really cute little cafe style place! and next time i go i will definitely sit on their outdoor patio! unfortunately today was a cold & rainy day!

tea time!

we had a busy day… but took a break to finish off our babycakes goodies! nom nom nom!

can you believe we actually still had room in our bellies for dinner? i know. bottomless pits right?!?!? so we decided to meet up with a good friend of mine for some vegan asian noms. {dao palate} has never failed me. we ordered the seitan satay skewers & baked eggplant with miso sauce for appetizer. (sound familiar? the owners are related to the owners of wild ginger where we just ate a few nights ago… so the menus are fairly similar!) šŸ˜‰ i ordered a soy thai ice tea for fun! and i had the sizzling seitan with black bean sauce for my entree. it was phenomenal. LOVE DAO PALATE!

my dinner came with a salad. LOVE ginger carrot dressing!
sizzling seitan (fajita style) nommmmmmm!

now i’m going back to yonkers and detoxing from all the sugar / soy i’ve consumed these past few days. time for a juice / smoothie fast! šŸ˜‰ seriously this was the best food vacation ever. had so much fun & so many delicious meals!
