so everyone in my life can tell you i’m a sugarholic. like bad. when i lived in california i could eat a six pack of vegan doughnuts from whole foods in less than 24 hours. yeah, that bad. i think a serving of coconut ice cream is the entire pint. i have a very bad addiction to sugar. so this past week of being sick i didn’t crave my normal doughnuts, cookies & cupcakes. when i’m sick the last thing i want is sugar. so i used it as an opportunity to try and change my sugar habits. i started making a few different raw desserts.
healthy chocolate pudding recipe
- 2 ripe bananas (i also used 1/2 a frozen one as well)
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tbs raw cacao powder
- 2 tsp agave nectar
- splash vanilla extract
- sliced strawberries (don’t add to blender – use as topping)
- a few vegan chocolate chips (optional)
blend all ingredients in vitamix and serve. can you say YUM?! i’m not even much of a chocolate person! this was so good. i’m a sucker for pudding though!
raw banana ice cream recipe
- 2 frozen bananas
- less than 1/4 cup almond milk
- splash vanilla extract (or use vanilla bean!)
- 1 tbs raw cacao powder
combine ingredients in vitamix – blend – enjoy! these banana ice cream recipes are so versatile. another night i used 2 frozen bananas, some frozen mango chunks & a splash of coconut water – it was a tropical delight! so delish! i love healthy desserts!
later this week i think i shall make a few raw truffle desserts. i finally got my hands on some medjool dates at the farmers market this weekend! yippee!!!!
