vegancation day two.

i started this beautiful sunday off with a 15 minute walk to a nearby *new-ish* coffee shop. timeless was not around when i lived a few blocks away. i am SO happy they exist now! i try to limit my soy consumption as much as possible. it’s hard when the only latte i can order is soy. not at timeless. they have… brace yourselves… ALMOND MILK LATTES.

*gasp* i’m in vegan heaven. and the entire bakery case stocked with mini cupcakes, scones, cakes & cinnamon rolls are entirely vegan. there are ample tables indoors and out! i can not wait to go back and try some more deliciousness!

although there are TWO other coffee shops a block away, timeless is going to be my go to coffee shop from this point forward. always support the local vegan businesses over starbucks!

i had a photo shoot scheduled in san jose for the afternoon and got stuck in some traffic while en route, so pulled off the highway in fremont and found a vegan friendly pizza place on yelp. zpizza offers daiya and other vegan / gluten free options. LOVE it! so i ordered a small berkeley vegan (86 mushrooms) & took it to go so i could eat in the car while stuck in traffic. it was delish. perfect lunch!

i definitely worked off all the calories i consumed from my 3o minute walk in the morning and then running after a 15 month old with my turtle shell strapped to my back… so by 5pm i think we were all famished.

my lovely and amazing friend / client took me out to dinner at the happy bamboo in san jose. the menu confused me a bit as it seems to be mexican / asian / american fusion… but it is vegan and the food was AWESOME.

we ordered the drumsticks for an appetizer.

the appetizer was perfect. totally reminded me of the pizza plaza days when i would order a dozen drumsticks and eat them all. these were up to pizza plaza caliber! for my entree i ordered delightful green noodles. moroheiya organic noodles (egyptian), with soy chicken, sauteed onion & mild tangy house sauce. served with sesame dressing, garnished with raw zucchini, lettuce, tomato & almonds.

it was spicy and DELICIOUS. i loved every bite. apparently it is the most popular item on the menu as the table next to us ordered several of them as well! my friends tried one of the veggie burgers and the soy chicken enchiladas. everyone was super happy with their dinner! yay! vegan done well in san jose!

i also ordered a vegan thai iced tea. my favorite!

tomorrow i’m headed into san francisco to meet up with a friend i haven’t seen since high school. really excited to see where i end up for lunch and dinner!
