today was definitely an overeating kind of day. yikes. i ate entirely too much! i need to not eat. like ever again. since today is national donut day… and i haven’t checked out pepples donuts new space (new as in opened right as i moved away) i did a drive by on my way to return the rental car. so glad i did! what a cute space. and i was informed by the ever so friendly girl at the counter… they have brunch. HECK YEAH. i know fellini’s closed so i was wondering where i was going to find a good vegan brunch. SCORE.
H A P P Y N A T I O N A L D O N U T D A Y !! !! !! !!
once i got back to oakland from my car returning errand i walked over to piedmont to timeless for a latte. as i was working on my crochet project i started thinking how great it would be to go wander around mountain view cemetery because it was so nice out.
then it occurred to me… I’M SUPPOSE TO BE AT YOGA IN THE CEMETERY IN 20 MINUTES! so i headed back to the apartment to change. my friend scooped me up and we made it to yoga just in time! man was i sore. still a fun experience. ((also for those of you who are wondering why i would WANT to hang out in a cemetery… mountain view was designed by the same architect who designed central park in nyc… in other words, it’s epic. there are people everywhere! walking dogs, strollers, exercising & doing photo shoots – it’s amazing!))
after yoga i hoppped on the bart and headed to berkeley. i was starved for some sushi! cha ya vegetarian is my favorite in the bay. i ordered the buckwheat soba noodle salad and the cha ya roll. everything was just as amazing as i remembered.
as if that wasn’t enough food… my sweet tooth convinced me i needed some cinnaholic. and well, since i was in the neighborhood….
like i said, not the healthiest of days for me. with each bite of the 99 balloons cinnamon roll i ordered, i felt the sugar oozing into my system. the dude at the counter suggested the 99 balloons… with graham cracker topping instead of the marshmallows that normally accompany it. man it was good.
i need a juice cleanse after this. OY VEY. sugarholic is a very accurate description of me. i swear i’m not like this at home at all. i guess it’s vacation brain. and it’s all the vegan goodness within my grasp here in the bay. i need a day off from sugar now. UGH.
after berkeley and all that food i needed a nap. so i relaxed the rest of the afternoon. my pal tori picked me up for dinner (how was i possibly even hungry?!?!?!) at jack london square… we attended the jack london square night time farmers market. just for fun. the only vegan stand i found was no no burger.
i loved the menu! the buffalono sounded good and had vegan bleu cheese – score! luckily they were out of fries… i don’t need any more carbs today. sheesh!
the burger was homemade and absolutely delish. so full of flavor! i thoroughly enjoyed every bite! nom nom nom.
i promise there is no more food involved from this point forward. i did meet up with another friend later in the evening for one peach cider beer at beer revolution… and that concludes this high calorie / high carb / high sugar day. i need to detox from sugar and carbs and foods – very very soon!
