day 5 chicago

food wise sunday was boring until dinner. we drove north to wisconsin to go apple picking at an orchard.

new favorite pastime – picking apples!!!!!! so much fun. although there wasn’t much selection to choose from but that made the afternoon even more interesting…like a game of “find the good apples”. ha ha!

the orchard also had a petting zoo, hay ride, and pig races. i’m always kinda iffy about places like this and actually had to walk away from the pig races because i think the guys running it were abusing the pigs. 😦 meh. poor piggies. i wanted to take them all home with me. i enjoyed watching and playing with the baby goats. they are so cute. someday i’d love to either have a farm or live near one. i love love love animals!

i love fall so much. i am already depressed having to head back to south florida.

so my morning breakfast + lunch consisted of one cup of coffee, some leftover swedish fish from halloween, some earth balance cheesey poofs…and 2 apples LOL. oh boy. was not the best.

for dinner we tried to get reservations at green zebra (the menu looks AMAZING) but they didn’t have any openings so we went to chicago diner. yummmmmmmmmmmmmm.

pumpkin ravioli’s above… poutine below. both were delicious. chicago diner has the best comfort food ever. i love it.

thai chili wings were so tasty.

southern fried country steak with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. one of my favorite meals there. i really had the hardest time deciding what i wanted to order. so good.

carrot cake shake was just as good as the peanut butter cookie dough one i had years ago. nom nom nom.

such a fun day / night. rachey heads out of town tomorrow morning so i’ll be on my own until i leave tuesday morning. wonder what adventures i’ll get into solo! 😉
